Undoubtedly, series (whether television or produced on a digital platform) are also a medium that we all consume either sporadically or daily.

15. Love in the networks

Platforms whose objective is to find a person with whom, hopefully, we can establish an affective relationship are increasingly widespread today.

Despite this, there is still a certain stigma about finding someone through networks. A good way to normalize this practice is to talk about it in your group of friends, to know their anecdotes and opinions about it.

16. The limit of life

When you separate something into pieces, there comes a point where itceases to maintain its original form and function. With living beings something similar happens, we are formed of small interconnected living pieces, which end up forming a whole in the form of a functional organism.

Talks about life and its limits, such as viruses or the formation of consciousness, are always very deep and interesting.

17. Privacy in the digital age

Our data is constantly used by companiesto make complicated calculations and predictions. The sale of this information is already an industry that moves huge amounts of money at the expense of our personal data.

Talking about how comfortable and knowledgeable we are about our privacy can open our minds to darker aspects of the digital age that we hadn’t contemplated.

18. Gender matters

Feminist discourse has represented a social revolution at the international level. Every day countries and their leaders are more up to date on gender issues, such as the different opportunities and difficulties we experience according to our sex.

GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are the subject of debate that takes place at every scale, from the supermarket to the laboratory.

21. The death penalty

Perhaps it is too serious a subject for some circles, but it is interesting especially when it is made up of people of different nationalities.

Having a conversation about ourplaces of originis a great way to expand our knowledge about other cultures and other ways of living.

23. The ban on zoos

Zoos are ancient institutions in which animals are kept in environments that are not usually the most suitable for them.

Many people today have objections about the morality of zoos, especially in an age where we can observe virtually any animal witha quick browser search. It’s an interesting talking point to talk about animal rights.

24. Homeopathy

Alternative medicine has been around forever. At best, it is based on observations and popular knowledgedistilled over the years. In others, it is nothing more than a deception that gives false hope to people in a vulnerable situation.

The view about homeopathy is changing recently in society and institutions take steps to stop these fraudulent practices in different ways. It is a conversation that can raise some blisters, but it is still very interesting.

25. The existence of extraterrestrial life

The universe is vast beyond what we can imagine, and the chances of intelligent life forms on another planet are not, as far as we know today, remote enough to explain the universe’s apparent silence on life.

Talking about our vision about the presence of extraterrestrial life is a very interesting topic of conversation, with which to entertain your group of friends or your class for a while.
